About
Rome is the oldest town on the LibreMC server, founded on March 30th, 2025, the very first day of the server’s existence. It was established by Cuerny, though the original plans for the town had been laid out by Boo Mac, who would later go on to found Milan.
As the capital of the Roman Empire, Rome has held great political and cultural importance throughout LibreMC’s history. The city has undergone numerous redesigns and remains under continuous development, but it is best known for landmarks such as the Theatre of Marcellus, the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, and the Porticus Aemilia.
Rome has also been home to several notable players, including Toutpetitmoineau in the early days of the server. Despite setbacks and threats from independent actors, Rome endures as one of the most significant and resilient towns in LibreMC.
History
Founding
March 30th, 2025 – Rome was founded by Cuerny, making it the third town on the server. The original founder had been planned as Boo Mac, who later established Milan.
Early Settlement
Toutpetitmoineau first began their time on the server in Rome.
Conflict and Theft
Plzcallmymom, using a hack client, stole Rome’s belongings before leaving to create London. This event indirectly led to the burning of Big Ben, which has never been reconstructed.
Expansion
For much of LibreMC’s early history, Rome stood as the largest city on the server before being surpassed by Paris.
Redesigns
Rome has undergone multiple large-scale redesigns over time, with the current iteration still in progress.
Threats
Throughout history, Rome has faced repeated threats of destruction by independent players, most notably Moltenw, but the city has continued to survive and rebuild.
Leadership
The insult “Cuerny Donkey,” originally directed at the founder by Moltenw, eventually became an ironic title, with Cuerny now serving as the Princeps of the Roman Empire.
