Constantinople is one of the oldest towns on the LibreMC server, founded on March 30th, 2025 by Aespera. It was the second official town to be established on the server and quickly became historically significant due to being the first settlement with a working villager breeder, marking a key milestone in early server development.
Throughout its history, Constantinople has served as a capital city for numerous nations, including the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire, Persia, Earth, the United Nations, and the Eastern Roman Empire. Despite frequent shifts in allegiance and renaming to reflect these political changes, Constantinople has remained a major hub of culture, trade, and influence.
History
- Founding – Founded by Aespera on March 30th, 2025, Constantinople was the second town on the server. It quickly distinguished itself by hosting the first functioning villager breeder.
- Roman Empire Era – Constantinople initially served as the eastern seat of the Roman Empire, but eventually left when Aespera sought to form a mercenary group and claim the Nether.
- Shifting Allegiances – Over time, Constantinople became the capital of multiple nations: the Ottoman Empire, Persia, Earth, the United Nations, and the Eastern Roman Empire. Each change brought a corresponding renaming of the city.
- Rejoining Rome – After these periods of independence, Constantinople peacefully rejoined the Roman Empire, though it later left again due to disputes regarding Aespera’s ambitions.
- Gaia and the UN – Constantinople became the capital of Gaia and later the United Nations, both of which peaked at #2 on the server leaderboard before the collapse of the UN. This collapse led to Constantinople permanently rejoining Rome.
- Leadership Changes – After Aespera moved to Antioch, Toutpetitmoineau assumed leadership of Constantinople. Under Tout, the town’s population skyrocketed from 1 to 10, making it the richest settlement on LibreMC at the time.
- Transfer to Tragiclangton – As summer ended, Toutpetitmoineau handed ownership of Constantinople to Tragiclangton.
- Merger with Constanta – Constantinople merged with the nearby settlement of Constanta, creating the modern-day city of Constantinople known today.
